    Springfield Symphony Orchestra

    The established mission of the SSO is to maintain and develop a professional symphony orchestra that produces musical performances of high artistic quality; to entertain and educate our audiences; to expand and develop our audiences; and to sponsor related programs and concerts that enhance the musical life of the region we serve.
    Today, after 65 years of great performances, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra is the largest professional orchestra in Massachusetts outside of Boston. It is comprised of approximately 80 musicians from the Pioneer Valley, Boston, and New York areas. The S.S.O.’s artistic programming has earned national recognition for its innovativeness, appeal, and breadth of scope.
