PVTA selects Sandra Sheehan of Hampden as new administrator

The new computing center, which Holyoke Mayor Elaine Pluta dubbed the “great green high-performance computing center”, is an unprecedented collaboration between the Commonwealth, the state’s top research universities—including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Massachusetts, Boston University, Northeastern University, and Harvard University—and two of the state’s top-tier technology hub firms, EMC Corp. and Cisco Systems, Inc.
The facility will enable researchers to perform the data processing, problem-solving, modeling, and simulation tasks required for the advancement of science in many fields. The center will have the potential to accelerate progress towards tackling some of the most pressing challenges of our times, such as modeling climate change and the human immune system.
He has been responsible for much of our extensive community involvement in Springfield, Holyoke, and other communities where we have a significant business interest.
