      Members of the Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield gathered Wednesday morning to get a look ahead at this November’s elections. Political consultant Anthony Cignoli spoke to business leaders about many of the key races and how these shifts in leadership are likely to directly impact western Massachusetts. He gave an overview of the race for governor, as well as the race for lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer, and auditor.

      The website was a collaborative effort by ROADS, short for Regional Organizations Advanced Data Sharing. The four organizations involved in putting the site together include the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, the Economic Development Council of Western Mass., the Regional Employment Board of Hampden County, and the Franklin Regional Council of Governments.

      January is National Mentoring month and Thursday morning, several community leaders gathered to discuss furthering mentorship programs in the Springfield community. Representatives from the Mass Mentoring Partnership told 22News that the need for mentors in western Massachusetts is great. In Springfield alone, there are nearly 600 young people currently on a waiting list.
