    Easthampton receives grant to study construction of 'anaerobic digester' facility to turn food waste into energy and heat

    The city has received a grant from the state Clean Energy Center for $38,000 to complete the project. City Planner Jessica Allan said she applied for the grant after a number of companies approached the city about setting up a facility on a city-owned parcel next to the treatment plant on Gosselin Drive near Ferry Street.
