Eastern States Exposition refuses to say if it is talking with Hard Rock International as potential casino developer
With just a week and a half before the Jan. 15 deadline for casino advocates to get applications for projects and a $400,000 fee to the state, Eastern States Exposition chief executive officer Eugene J. Cassidy confirmed Thursday that the local organization is still in the game. Hard Rock International has expressed interest in building a casino at the exposition’s fairgrounds in West Springfield, according to city officials. However, neither Cassidy nor spokespeople for Hard Rock would confirm those reports.
