Hospital finances hurting
As the state's fiscal crisis deepened, Gov. Deval L. Patrick reneged on a promise to provide federal stimulus dollars for the state's so-called safety net hospitals, including Mercy Medical Center in Springfield and Holyoke Medical Center.
