Springfield-based NXT Nutritionals gets Pentagon OK to sell Susta sweetner on military bases

A sweetener with its roots in Springfield is starting to show up in military chow lines both stateside and around the World. NXT Nutritionals, a 6-year-old company with offices on East Columbus Street, has received Pentagon approval to sell its Susta sweetener and Healthy Dairy-brand of smoothies and yogurt cups containing Susta for use in military dining halls, including the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
