"Rural Life, Urban Appeal" is the slogan the tourism council is working with now. Braiding the appeal of pastoral places with the buzz of Valley culture is a clever approach. It offers a good reason to consider Valley destinations without fixing too specifically on any of the possibilities such a slogan suggests -- mowings and museums, backwoods trails and bookstore cafes, quiet lanes and the Pearl Street nightclub.
