• Bart Lipkens, Western New England College’s Mechanical Engineering Department, “Ultrasound and Acoustophoresis Technology for the Collection and Processing of Oleaginous Microorganisms for the Production of Bio-oils.” From MassCEC: The funding will help researchers develop a laboratory-sized prototype that uses ultrasound and acoustophoresis technology to produce biofuels from micro-algae. The system involves the harvesting of micro-algae, the production of biofuel from the algae, and the concentration and separation of the biofuel. (Read Full Article)
