Big Y Food opening 9 new supermarkets in Massachusetts, Connecticut

Big Y Foods Inc. is getting bigger on the eve of its 75th anniversary. Wednesday, Big Y announced that it had purchased seven Connecticut supermarkets from the faltering A&P chain.
