    UMass graduate student receives Department of Energy award, will contribute work to Large...

    A graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has received a prestigious award from the U.S. Department of Energy that will put him to work on a project connected to the Large Hadron Collider--the world's largest particle accelerator. Physics Ph.D. candidate Guy Rosin, of Watertown, has been chosen to receive the Science Graduate Student Research Program award, UMass announced Wednesday.  Rosin is one of 47 students nationwide to receive the award which prepares graduate students for STEM careers by providing work and thesis opportunities at DOE labs.
