    Opening of Northampton office for crime victims brings $9 million to area programs

    A state agency that supports crime victims and witnesses officially opened its first office outside of Boston Thursday, bringing $9 million in funding for Western Massachusetts programs with it.  "Nothing is more important than making sure victims, survivors, and their families have the support and resources they need," Attorney General Maura Healey said at the opening of the 403 Pleasant St. satellite office for the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance.  The 34-year-old agency helps crime victims through advocacy, education and various other forms of assistance.
