    $3.5 million from state to help resurrect Pynchon Plaza in downtown Springfield

    Starting this Spring, construction is set to bring Pynchon Plaza in downtown Springfield back to life, thanks to $3.5 million from the MassWorks Infrastructure Program. Patrick Sullivan, Springfield's executive director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management said the city is preparing to put the project out to bid with construction to start in March and to be completed by the end of the 2018 construction season.
