Students with metal fabrication and welding skills can often land good jobs straight out of high school, said Rick Martin, superintendent of Franklin County Technical School. Franklin Tech recently landed a $495,000 state grant to completely refurbish its welding and fabrication shop, and to integrate it with digital design, robotics, and other modern advancements. 'Everything's done with computers these days,' said Martin. 'This will help our students develop 21st-century job skills. Those skills are in demand.'
