The Keynote speaker is Massachusetts Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Matthew Beaton. Additional speakers include Chancellor Subbaswamy, State Representative Solomon Goldstein – Rose, Libby Murphy, Suffolk Construction, Former Energy and Environment Secretary Maeve Vallely Bartlett now Director of Strategic Development, NE of AECOM, Former energy undersecretary, Mark Sylvia now Executive Manager at Blue Wave, Jim Lavelle, CEO, Holyoke Gas and Electric and Adam Rodrigues, fellow at Greentown Labs.
There will be three panels: clean energy, water innovations and green building technologies. The conference will focus on these growing sectors grounded in sustainability, career pathways for students, UMass’s leadership position in research and development and the Western Mass region’s ability to provide a robust workforce for companies in this field. The event will conclude with a matchmaking opportunity with tables for companies who wish to exchange materials, meet colleagues, and discuss job and career opportunities with students.
