Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, accompanied by Department of Energy Resources Commissioner Judith Judson and others, presented the check to Williamsburg officials during a visit to Western Massachusetts on Thursday. "When municipalities reduce their carbon footprints, they not only save money for residents, but help the state achieve its emission reduction goals," said Polito. "So thank you." The Municipal Energy Technical Assistance grants help designated Green Communities make good energy decisions. Funds in the amount of $661,000 were awarded to 56 cities and towns across Massachusetts this week.
