Organizers are expecting nice weather and a very good crowd on Saturday for the daylong Springfield Jam Fest, featuring more than a dozen local bands, at Court Square downtown. The event is from noon to 11 p.m., and is free of charge, with bands using two stages to maximize the music, said Chris Russell, executive director of the Springfield Business Improvement District, which is presenting the festival. "We're very excited," Russell said. "It's local talent and a diverse genre of music -- country, rock, Latin salsa, reggae. ... It's all local from the operations to the performers."
