Jobs are growing, so why not wages? MassBenchmarks analyzes the state economy

Massachusetts employers are having a hard time filling open jobs, but demographics, low growth in productivity and competition are keeping wages low. All these factors are also making it hard for households to keep up and depressing state tax receipts, according to MassBenchmarks, a study of the state’s economy issued Wednesday by the UMass Donahue Institute and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
