    Westfield opens $3.6M Olver Transit Pavilion as hub of downtown redevelopment

    Westfield officials and the PVTA opened the doors Friday on the new $3.65 million Olver Transit Pavilion at the corner of Arnold and Elm streets in the heart of the city's downtown. With bathrooms, a ticketing kiosk that video links with Pioneer Valley Transit Authority customer service representatives, a display board for the Chamber of Commerce, bike racks, a vending machine with bike parts and supplies and, soon, a coffee shop, the pavilion is seen by city planners as the center of a downtown redevelopment project stretching over blocks and decades.
