The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum
"But we can have lots of good fun that is funny" - The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
For years, the millions of visitors to Springfield's premier outdoor attraction, the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, have asked the question "when are you going to open a Dr. Seuss Museum?" Today, we are very close to making the dream of a Dr. Seuss Museum a reality and you can help!
The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum is scheduled to open the first weekend in June. The Springfield Museums have undertaken a Capital Campaign to fund this important project, but we need your support to make it to the finish line. I am so committed to this tribute to Springfield's own Dr. Seuss - an international celebrity and icon of children's literature - that I am hosting a benefit to help raise money for the first of its kind Dr. Seuss Museum.
On Friday, June 2, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., The Springfield Sheraton Monarch Place will be transformed into a Seussian wonderland. Guests will be treated to Seuss-inspired hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and live music and the Cat in the Hat and Things 1 & 2 will be stopping by to create a little mischief. But most importantly the community will come together to celebrate the legacy of the remarkable Dr. Seuss.
Tickets are available for only $100 at SpringfieldMuseums.org, and 100% of this donation is tax deductible. You can also reserve a pack of ten tickets for $1,000, which is also 100% tax deductible. I strongly encourage you to spread the word, share the invitation, and bring your friends! I look forward to celebrating this important milestone for the City of Springfield with you on June 2!
Sincerely,Paul PicknellyPresident, Monarch Enterprises
