A Federal Rail Administration (FRA) open house held in Springfield on Wednesday allowed the public to come out and learn about plans for an updated rail system. Held at the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission on Congress Street, the primary reason for the open house was to give the public access to information about the NEC FUTURE program--a federal plan to update aging infrastructure and expand rail services in the northeastern corridor.
