    Ruben Flores-Marzan is Ware's new director of planning and community development

    By a 4-1 vote, selectmen on Tuesday confirmed the town manager's selection of Ruben Flores-Marzan as the municipality's new director of planning and community development. He begins work on Thursday, with an annual salary of $64,000, Town Manager Stuart Beckley said. Selectman John Desmond, who voted against Flores-Marzan, alluded to the fiscal condition of the town, and said, "The last thing we need to do is hire more people." Desmond also questioned whether a planning director would "inspire" economic activity. "We haven't seen any growth and I don't see that changing," the selectman said.
