    Construction of a $23.8 million emergency department at Holyoke Medical Center at 575 Beech St. is on schedule with the facility set to be ready by spring, a hospital press release said. "This will allow 'HMC' to treat patients in a more efficient and dignified way," the press release said Tuesday. U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal, D-Springfield, joined state, city and hospital officials on Monday in writing their signatures on the last beam to be installed in the project, formally known as the Emergency Department and Medical Office Building, the press release said.
