    The owners of two major Western Massachusetts employers – Yankee Candle in South Deerfield and Lenox American Saw in East Longmeadow – are in merger talks according to multiple media reports Tuesday.  Newell Rubbermaid, owner of Lenox American Saw, and Jarden Corporation, owner of Yankee Candle, are worth a combined $22.6 billion. The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news, said Newell had a market value of $11.97 billion as of Friday's close, slightly more than Jarden's market capitalization of $10.65 billion.  Specific terms were not disclosed and talks may not result in a merger.
