    A.O. White in East Longmeadow to close; owners plan new, smaller clothing store

    A.O. White, a longtime staple of downtown Springfield retail, will close its remaining store in East Longmeadow by the end of July. But company president Lewis White said he plans to come back in mid-August with a new but smaller store under a different, as-yet undecided name. The new store will focus only on upscale sportswear, he said. Think brands like Eileen Fisher for women or Tommy Bahama for either gender.
