    State awards $4.48 million to school turnaround efforts in Springfield, Worcester

    The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education awarded $4.48 million, in total, to three Springfield middle schools and a Worcester school that teaches preschool through grade six. The schools to receive funding are: Elm Park Community School in Worcester, $1,300,000; Duggan Middle School in Springfield, $1,065,000; Springfield's Van Sickle Middle School, $1,060,000; and Forest Park Middle School in Springfield, $1,055,000.
