    Need a summer job? Hampden County board hopes to put 1,000 youths to work | masslive.com

    The Regional Employment Board hopes to put 1,000 young people between the ages of 14 and 21 to work this summer utilizing $1.1 million in state money. The youth employees will work an average of 125 hours over 6 weeks for minimum wage, $9 an hour. They also receive 15 hours of workplace readiness skills and workplace safety.  Applications are available through the Valley Opportunity Council, Westfield High School, CareerPoint, and the New England Farm Workers Council.
