    Springfield awaits study to help sell former Chapman Valve property in Indian

    The city received no offers recently for the purchase and redevelopment of a 17.7 acre industrial property on Pinevale Street in Indian Orchard, part of the Chapman Valve site, but a city planner was undeterred by the snub. Brian Connors, the city's deputy director of planning and economic development, said the city will try again, but is awaiting the results of a reuse study for a nearby, 22-acre portion of the Chapman Valve property on Oak Street to aid the redevelopment efforts.
