UMass sets record with six start-up companies, including one that uses gecko-based technology developed in Amherst | masslive
The University of Massachusetts system spun off a record six start up companies in the past year while at the same time generating $30 million in licensing revenue by bringing technology developed at its campuses to market. This is the eight straight year UMass has generated $30 million, according to a news release issued this week.
Three of the new companies are developed from UMass Amherst technology. The other three are from medical school.
