Easthampton, MA: William S. Hogan, Jrl, President and CEO of Easthampton Savings Bank, announced that Michael J. Roy, Esq. has joined Easthampton Savings Bank as the Compliance Officer.
Roy has a Bachelors of Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic College and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in December 1999 and to the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts in April 2000.
Roy has almost 10 years of banking experience. He worked for Great Western Bank and First Nationwide Bank as a Branch Vice President, a Mortage Loan Officer and a Wholesale Lending Account Manager.
Roy was emloyed in a legal capacity by Friendly Ice Cream Corp. as a Real Estate and Corporate Contract Counsel, and at Fratar, Kern & Kelly, LLC as a Real Estate and Corporate Law Attorney. He was most recently employed as an Industry Relations/Massachusetts Manager at Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Co.
Roy has been involved with the March of Dimes Walk America and the Springfield Leadership Institute. He is the President of the Northampton Rotary Club for 2009/2010.
Roy will be responsible for overseeing Easthampton Savings Bank's compliance program. His responsibilities will include implementing, amending or creating compliance policies and assisting with Federal and State regulator compliance exams. Roy will function as the in-house expert for all applicable federal and state banking laws and regulations.
He resides in Florence, MA.
