State Sen. Michael Knapik, R-Westfield, stepping down to take new position with Westfield State University

State Sen Michael R. Knapik, R-Westfield, is stepping down after more than 20 years of service to take a new position with Westfield-State-University/index.html" target="_blank">Westfield State University. Knapik, a 10-term Republican senator and member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, is resigning to become executive director of university advancement. The position will require him to work closely with university President Dobelle/index.html" target="_blank">Evan S. Dobelle and the Westfield State Foundation Inc., the nonprofit organization that raises money and manages charitable gifts for the university.
