Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway subject of 2015 deadline for Springfield to improve access

A state board has granted the city until Dec. 1, 2015, to provide a new ramp system to allow unhampered handicapped accessibility to the 3.7 mile Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway in Springfield. In a recent letter, the state’s Architectural Access Board listed the 2015 deadline for demolishing an existing, often-malfunctioning elevator, and extending an existing ramp to provide improved access to the bikeway.
