Springfield selects company for solar panel projects expected to save $2 million over 20 years

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno announced the selection of The Real Thing LLC, a solar energy services company based in Nashua, N.H., through a Request for Qualifications process. Eight firms submitted their qualifications. The four sites selected for the solar panels are the rooftops at M. Marcus Kiley Middle School, the city’s Department of Public Works Operations Facility on Tapley Street; Cyr Arena in Forest Park; and the capped former Stafford Street Landfill.
