      Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester are three hospitals cited in a statement by Cooley Dickinson officials as a potential partner. Other medical centers could be considered as well. Cooley Dickinson President Craig N. Melin stressed that his facility is in the exploratory stage regarding a new partnership.

      In Qteros’s licensing model, some ethanol producers would incorporate its technology into their existing plants. McCarthy said that retrofitting existing facilities to use his firm’s technology would be less expensive than building new plants from scratch.
